ABOUT ALEXANDER CARR-LOCKE

I am a goal-orientated chartered accountant who has a desire to constantly learn and thrives on coaching, relationship-building, and improving the status quo through leadership and analysis. I am skilled in the areas of consolidated management accounts and statutory financial accounts, technical accounting, financial analysis & commentary, financial forecasting, financial process & control development, delivering projects (manage & hands-on), cash management, and financial operations management. Furthermore, I have experience in hiring, coaching, and managing staff whilst supporting the wider business including partnering with key stakeholders internally (operations, commercial, board) and externally (tax advisers, banks, auditors). I trained with PwC and was a manager with Ernst & Young in Canada. I have had a diverse career to date working in senior roles for SMEs and a multi-national corporate, both private and listed. More recent experience is within the investment management and energy sectors. I have also started my own business, Stewpendous, as a side project to my finance and accounting career to build on my commercial aptitude and contribute to a greener environment. This business manufactures and sells a consumer food product online at In my finance roles. I have faced restructuring, takeovers, significant financial stress, and operational dysfunction. In these situations, I always embrace change and look to improve the situation. However, faced with adverse change I proactively take steps to explore & grasp opportunities. Recent Key Achievements: 1. Developed listed SME\'s accounting & finance operations through planning, relationship building, coaching, and technical skills. Lead a team of six through the month-end of a complex group, reducing the time taken from 5-10 to 3 days. Achieved at the beginning of a new role and in a new industry. Implemented a new consolidation process for a complex group in the general ledger, reducing time to produce & improving the quality of the consolidation. Obtained IFRS and Corporate Finance Diplomas (Distinction) with Chartered Accountants of Ireland 5. Led technical analysis & systems changes for IFRS implementation. Collaborated with systems & finance functions in UK, US & India.
