As the Director of Sustainability Integration I get to use a lot of syllables while developing and implementing sustainability programs to improve the operations of Western Washington University. The focus areas include working closely with our utility partners and commodity\'s brokers to contracts to improve our indirect, Scope 1, emissions; improving the efficiency of our buildings and central steam plant to reduce our direct, Scope 2, emissions; and finally developing a tracking system to influence our supply chains and reduce our embedded, Scope 3, emissions. This work includes institutional change management strategies, long term planning, cradle to grave project development and management, design review, and cross functional team building.
