Leads the strategic delivery and operational management of the Prevent aspect of the government’s Counter-Terrorism Strategy, focusing on preventing radicalisation. Manages a multidisciplinary team, fostering high performance and effective delivery of the Prevent strategy through leadership development and continuous improvement in staff capabilities. Develops and strengthens collaborative relationships across a range of partner organisations, including local and regional networks, to ensure cohesive and unified efforts in counter-terrorism initiatives, including the Homeland Security Division of the Home Office, the Countering Extremism team of the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, and the Extremism and Prevent teams of the Department of Education. Oversees customer-focused service and activities in line with the council\'s vision and values through innovative approaches to enhance community safety. Directs financial management of Prevent budget, assesses risks, and ensures compliance. Leads community engagement initiatives to build trust and improve safety measures, facilitating guidance and support to educational establishments and community organisations to enhance their understanding and compliance with Prevent duties, including the faith sector through Brent Multi Faith Forum and local potentially vulnerable venues. Secures, manage and monitors funding for Prevent and projects, managing grants effectively to ensure projects meet their KPIs and provide value to the community. Develops and manages delivery against the local Prevent Risk Assessment, Situational Awareness, and Action Plan based on general and specific local risks of terrorism and radicalisation. Leads the team in developing a strategic communication and engagement plan. Leads the team through structural changes, inspiring and coaching for professional development, and maintaining high performance under transformative conditions.
