Developed and validated high-sensitivity molecular assays for pathogen detection in wastewater (SARS-CoV-2, RSV, Influenza A/B) and typing and subtyping (H1, H3 & H5) of Influenza A during deployment using QIAcuity dPCR and RT-qPCR.• Led method development to improve detection limits, stability, reproducibility, analytical testing (inclusivity and exclusivity), reportable range finding, and streamlined workflows using automated extraction and sample concentration tools.• Maintained inventories, equipment, supplies, waste disposal, eyewash stations, and temperature recording.• Followed existing SOPs for molecular biology techniques and aseptic techniques, including extraction where needed.• Oversaw biorepository operations, including label requests, sending labels to Verily Life Sciences, and reviewing and approving GFAT files, NCE, CAPA, and RCA form submissions.• Integrated data from different platforms, including dPCR, RT-qPCR, and assay performance monitoring for nationwide surveillance programs.• Authored SOPs, technical guidelines, and pathogen detection profiles; presented findings to leadership and at national conferences and co-authored a poster presentation at IDRIS 2025.• Co-authored a CDC-approved Influenza A subtyping method (in preparation) and served as the first author for a presentation at the Laboratory Science Symposium (CDC) 2025.• Integrated GeneXpert wastewater data into national dashboards.• Maintained the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).• Submitted proposals to the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), which were approved by the committee.• Prepared risk assessment documents.• Received recognition from Rapid Response Research and Surveillance Branch in 2025 and was the Trivia Contest Champion of the NCEZID’s Science to Action Team (STAT) on June 24, 2025.
