About Abrar Ahmad

My journey as a Engineer Lead has been shaped by a passion for building test systems that don’t just work—but scale. Early in my career, I faced brittle, slow automation suites that failed under load or parallelization. That challenge pushed me to engineer frameworks that are fast, resilient, maintainable, and DevOps-ready.At a leading FinTech platform, I architected a modular test automation framework from the ground up—leveraging Playwright for UI and Karate for API testing. This framework supported cross-browser, multi-environment, and data-driven executions. As a result, we reduced a 6-hour regression cycle to under 1 hour, executing over 1,200 test cases in parallel. I integrated the suite into GitHub Actions, implemented test tagging, retry logic, and enabled rich reporting via Allure, custom HTML dashboards, and Slack notifications—significantly improving visibility and team collaboration. On the performance engineering front, I built simulation frameworks using K6 and Apache JMeter, enabling load testing of up to concurrent users. This effort uncovered memory leaks, latency spikes, and scaling bottlenecks, leading to a 30% increase in system throughput and greater confidence during peak load events like product launches. In the mobile testing space, I developed scalable automation strategies using Maestro, integrated with BrowserStack and Sauce Labs, ensuring reliable execution across a wide matrix of real devices. By automating post-deployment mobile smoke tests in CI pipelines, we shortened the feedback loop and significantly reduced production escapes. Most recently, my focus has shifted to the intersection of AI/LLMs and software testing. I’ve been building tools and models that leverage Git diffs, test history, and flaky test patterns to:Prioritize high-risk test cases automaticallyPredict test failures earlyEliminate redundant or low-value test runsThese innovations have helped teams transition from reactive to data-driven, predictive QA, boosting release confidence while reducing test cycle time.I bring a quality-first mindset with a strong foundation in test architecture, performance engineering, DevOps integration, and AI/ML experimentation. Whether it\'s building automation frameworks, improving observability, or scaling quality gates, my mission remains the same: to enable continuous testing, rapid feedback, and reliable software delivery in fast-paced, microservices-driven environments.

    Spenmo

    May 2022 — Present · SG

As a core QA leader at Spenmo, I played a pivotal role in designing and implementing end-to-end test automation strategies across UI, API, and mobile platforms, enabling faster, more reliable releases and reducing production issues.Key Contributions: Architected and scaled a Playwright-based test automation framework, integrated with GitHub Actions, enabling parallel execution and achieving a 30% reduction in regression cycle time. Led API test automation using Postman, Pact, and Pytest, establishing a robust validation layer that doubled bug detection by enforcing post-deployment sanity runs. Spearheaded mobile automation using Maestro (iOS & Android), achieving 90% coverage for key user flows and contributing to significantly improved production stability. Championed shift-left testing by embedding QA validations earlier in the SDLC, setting up quality gates to catch issues early and validate feature intent. Designed performance testing pipelines using K6 and custom UI metrics, proactively identifying backend and frontend bottlenecks and enhancing system responsiveness.🤖 Led internal initiatives around AI-driven QA, including LLM-based test generation, self-healing selectors, and ML-based test optimization.
