I am an optometry student at the SCO in Memphis, TN. In the future, I would like to complete a residency in ocular disease, contact lenses, and/or optometric surgical procedures. Eventually, my goal is to obtain ownership in a private practice. During my fourth year of optometry school, I will be on externship in Charleston, SC at the Ralph Johnson VAMC from May-August 2023, followed by Mountain Eyeworks in Steamboat Springs, CO from September-December 2023, before finishing my last semester of school at SCO in Memphis, where I will graduate in May 2024.Prior to beginning optometry school, I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with a B.S. in Biochemistry and minors in mathematics and psychology. I began working in virus production at Zoetis, and pursued a MBA degree at Nebraska Wesleyan University. After my time at Zoetis, as I was gearing up for optometry school, I worked in R&D at Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing for just over a year.I have always loved science, and my time at NWU sparked an interest in owning a business, which led me back to school (for what I hope is the last time) to study optometry, with the hope of blending my love of science and business into one career. I also enjoy reading and writing, public speaking/teaching, and have a passion for leadership.
