ABOUT ABIODUN OSHINOWO

I have worked in the field of materials chemistry in the last two years. My graduate research project focused on \"Negative Thermal Expansion (NTE) materials\"- which are materials that contract instead of expand upon heating. I have used powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and Rietveld analysis as characterization techniques in my research. I have equally employed JADE/MDI, TOPAS Academic, DIFFRAC. TOPAS, Thermal analyzer, GSAS II and Kaleidagraph as software tools in my research. I have also taken the relevant courses including X-ray Crystallography, Advanced Materials Chemistry, Materials Science I and Materials Science II to mention few. I have also garnered some industrial experience including being an engineering intern at Crown Battery Manufacturing Company where I worked on the optimization of lead-acid car batteries - opening my scientific mind to the synergy between school and the industry. I am open to positions related to product research and development, process optimization, method development for new materials, characterization and analysis of products using various characterization techniques.
