About Abby Cook

I am a New York-based retail expert with nine years of merchandising, buying and brand management experience in the e-commerce, retail, and fashion industries. I have experience in many areas of retail including brand strategy, product management, inventory planning, category growth, marketing, vendor relations, and new product launch as well as effective communication and timeline management of cross functional partners.I am a graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion and Textile Management, a concentration in Brand Management and Marketing, and a minor in Business Administration. In addition to maintaining high standards in education, I also stayed involved through a variety of organizations. My education at NC State-and abroad at the University of Manchester-allowed me to have a diverse and unique set of experiences in Branding, Marketing, and Retail Strategy. The extensive curriculum at NC State challenged me to go beyond the scope of my major to understand the sciences and manufacturing required throughout the textile and apparel process. Upon graduation from NC State in May of 2016, I began my role as a digital merchandise assistant at Macy\'s in the women\'s apparel division. Almost exactly a year later, I was promoted to the assistant planner role with strong recommendations from my superiors. In 2018 I decided to make a career move to Jet.com (owned by Walmart) as a category specialist on the women\'s apparel team. During my time at Jet.com/Walmart, I managed e-commerce for the women\'s denim business, junior\'s bottoms & graphics tee\'s, and private label strategic partnership brand initiatives. In 2021, I left Walmart to join Thrasio as an Amazon Brand Manager where I was responsible for redefining and scaling the brand Bristols 6 (aka Nippies). In 2023, I joined TikTok as a TikTok Shop Category Manager helping brands to onboard, integrate, and strategize for growth.
