About Abigail Janvier
My name is Abigail Janvier and I am a honors Biomedical engineering graduate from the University of Houston (UH). During my time at the University, I have gained extensive experience in mentorship, research, and programming. As a sophomore, I volunteered in the University\'s Biomedical Engineering lab assisting in the development of a blood-brain barrier device for validation testing on drug delivery nanoparticles. From the same lab, I participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program from which I produced a research poster and developed a method of electrode integration that optimized the device. A year later, I began working for CorInnova as a biomedical engineering intern working on a cardiac assist device. In addition to my experience with medical devices, I also have experience with mentorship. I was involved in the UH National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) mentorship program in which I mentored two undergraduate students. I have served as a teaching assistant for the UH\'s computing and programming class where I gained skills in MATLAB.
