About Abigail Hutton
I am a second-year MPH student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health studying global health epidemiology, and I will be graduating in the spring of 2023. During my first year of my master\'s program, I interned for the Colorado Department of Public Health where I conducted case interviews for enteric pathogens. In the summer after the first year of my program, I also worked for the nonprofit organization, Girl Effect, which helped shape my passion for wanting to continue research in the field of women\'s health. I obtained my bachelor\'s degree in microbiology from the University of Michigan in 2021, where I played Division 1 field hockey and contributed to five Big Ten Championships and two Final Four appearances. As I move forward with my job search, I am hoping to apply my background in microbiology and public health as well as the lessons I have learned from playing field hockey to make a positive difference in my community.
