At Bridgend Tennis Squash and Bowls Club I have been an assistant coach which entailed helping set up drills, activities and competitions to encourage the development of junior players at the club. I have given detailed feedback to parents, helping parents to practice certain aspects of their child’s game outside of lessons, and also giving competition advice, where I have handpicked the tournaments according to the level of the child. I have successfully created, a long side my colleagues, a positive and encouraging environment for players to develop; where they feel comfortable and driven to improve. This position has helped my analytical skills, through spotting faults and gaps in technique, which I would then create a strategy to reduce tactical errors and strive towards technical progress; which in turn has helped many players at the club progress into the South Wales county squad.Through my experience as a junior player, competing around the country I have a great knowledge of tennis equipment, so I have been able to advise parents about rackets and shoes.
