ABOUT ABIDA C.
I work at the intersection of health, intellectual freedom, and advocacy, expanding access for communities that are overlooked, silenced, or stigmatized, with particular commitment to underserved communities such as children of immigrants and women. My interests are grounded in moral psychology and ethical inquiry, especially questions of atheism, humanism, and how people construct meaning, values, and resilience outside of imposed belief systems. I am deeply interested in mental health, depression, and complex post-traumatic stress disorder in global contexts, and in how culture, migration, stigma, and poverty shape mental health outcomes across South Asia and its diaspora.I build spaces where critical thinking is protected and truth is non negotiable. I lead with both science and storytelling, using good science, poetry, and lived experience to challenge harmful systems and carry what matters forward. I am committed to ethical, human centered health work.
