About Abhyuday Chauhan

I am studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Warangal. I chose this college because it is arguably in the top 10 colleges in India for this specific branch. I have become skilled in electronics, 3D modeling, Convolutional neural networks within AI/ML, and debating, amongst other things.My AI/ML experience started with courses. Courses made by industry leaders in the field, using which I have gained basic knowledge. I furthered my understanding in this field by working on 2+ projects in both hardware and software. Applied knowledge in this field has given me practical skills that give me an edge over others. I am currently working on learning to use YOLOV8, the latest advancement in image object detection.Combined with my history in 3D modeling using Fusion 360, I have designed and printed components for 3+ projects. I learned how to use this software by designing frames for drones, essential components in a PID controller-based ball balancer, and more. I am interested in learning to design my PCBs for a smaller form factor for my future projects.Clubs have been a pivotal point for me in NITW. EA and Ham, a technical club allowed me to work on difficult projects alongside other people. Iterative design and key technical communication skills have been my main takeaway from this club. I am also an active member of the Literary and Debating Club, my soft skills regarding speaking and debating have taken form here and allow me to put my point across with ease. Both clubs have given me leadership positions to lead my parallels and juniors forward. My applicable experience in these fields with my colleagues led us to get 2nd position in Innothon, a competition held and conducted directly by Hitachi in NITW. We were judged based on the presentation of our idea and the execution by making a physical model. I am interested in projects relating to ROS (Robotic Operating System), AI/ML, and a little niche interest in control systems.

REACH! is the Asian/Pacific Islander Recruitment and Retention Center at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1994, REACH! began with a handful of committed folks, as a program under the Asian Student Union (ASU) at UC Berkeley to target “Asian Pacific American, high school students, especially those who are underrepresented, low-income, and non-college tracked”. Its goals were two-fold: 1) promoting higher education as an attainable goal and 2) empowering students through “building ethnic pride and programs that foster community activism and support APA youth culture”. As REACH! grew organizationally, the vision and purpose of REACH! grew with it. While the mission remained, “the service and empowerment of recent immigrant and urban Asian Pacific Americans living in at-risk life situations,” we added on that “Our goal is to promote higher education as a means to empower ourselves and improve the economic and social conditions facing our communities.” We saw that REACH! had a unique role on campus and in the API community at large, because REACH! was not just going to increase the numbers of underrepresented Asians at Berkeley but REACH! would be a training ground for future educators, activists, and leaders who would address society’s injustices through their life’s work. Thus, we created programs to raise political awareness, build coalitions, develop youth leaders, and build leadership in ourselves. Each year, programs have been refined and recreated by (insanely) dedicated and intelligent coordinators, who look for a better way to do things. However, our single most important legacy is the steady stream of community leaders we have and will produce. REACH! Mission Statement: "Committed to the service, empowerment, and mobilization of immigrant, refugee, and underserved Asian/Pacific Islanders by promoting higher education to empower ourselves and challenge the economic and social inequalities facing our communities" Educate, Empower, Change.
