Established in 1970, Law Centre-1 (LC-1) is a premier unit within the Faculty of Law at the University of Delhi. As one of the oldest law centres, it holds a unique position in the legal education landscape of India. Originally located on Mandir Marg, LC-1 is now housed in the state-of-the-art ‘Umang Bhawan’ on the North Campus, placing it at the heart of the university’s academic activities. Our Centre is renowned for its focus on social justice, clinical legal education, and constitutional law. The centre has a rich legacy of producing distinguished judges, parliamentarians, and leading advocates. Its student body is a diverse mix of fresh graduates and experienced professionals, fostering a vibrant intellectual environment. The centre is particularly noted for its award-winning Legal Services Society and active participation in national moot courts. The Internship and Placement Assistance Committee of Law Centre-1 serve as the dedicated interface between the students and the professional world. The committee is a student-run body committed to facilitating internship and recruitment opportunities by connecting the legal fraternity with the centre’s diverse talent pool. It works tirelessly to match the proficiency, inquisitiveness, and professional ethics of LC-1 students with the requirements of top law firms, corporate houses, and litigation chambers.
