Devised an outlier removal routine in 2D and 3D to eliminate erroneous points in 3D reconstruction that reduced the crash rates from 40% to 0.• Identified the bottleneck and introduced a CUDA kernel to speed up the module by 68%.• Developed CUDA kernels to facilitate computationally expensive module and achieve correct results for alpha blending.• Engineered robust rectification of point clouds using RANSAC with object-oriented code abstraction for virtual functions with less than 1% cost to speed performance of the module.• Deployed an algorithm to compute a vector pointing inside for spherical cap point clouds that enabled to have a consistent orientation for the display with 98% accuracy.• Discovered and resolved a bug that caused unexpected flipping of display based on camera position
