ABOUT ABHISEK SHARMA
I am a dedicated researcher with a PhD in Semantic Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and Knowledge Representation & Reasoning, currently embarking on a postdoctoral appointment in Computational Cognitive Science. My work spans ontology matching, multilingual and multicultural knowledge alignment, neuro-symbolic integration, and knowledge graph construction with cultural dimensions.Throughout my doctoral research, I developed LSMatch—a system for semantic alignment across diverse knowledge structures—and authored six thesis chapters covering ontology matching paradigms, multilingual matching, neuro-symbolic alignment, and cultural knowledge representation. I bring a strong interdisciplinary mindset, bridging AI, formal semantics, cognitive science, and machine learning.My current post-doc focus is on advancing computational models of knowledge alignment in culturally heterogeneous environments, enabling more inclusive and context-aware AI systems. I thrive in collaborative research settings and am adept at building systems that combine symbolic reasoning and data-driven learning.Outside the lab, I train for half-marathons and stay grounded by running in my favourite shoes—Nike Downshifter 12, Skechers GoRun Elevate and ASICS Gel Nimbus 25—bringing the same discipline and endurance to both research and personal goals.I’m always open to discussing research collaborations, speaking engagements, and industry partnerships at the intersection of knowledge representation, cognitive science, and AI.
