About Abhinavv Singh
I hold a Masters degree in Urban Design with a focus on computational and equitable urbanism from Carnegie Mellon University, a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Mumbai University, and 6 years of professional experience as a Registered Architect and Urban Designer. I am adept in diverse domains such as generative modeling, urban data analytics and cartography, computing urban systems and community engagement.I received the \'George W. Anderson Jr. Award\' and the \'Gold medal for academic excellence\' for my undergraduate thesis project: Architecture of Associations, Persistence of Memory that aimed at uplifting the community affected by the gas tragedy in Bhopal, India through a commoning framework. My graduate thesis project, Water Resilient Koliwada, proposes to adapt the Koli community to sea-level rise through a participatory design process.In my design sojourn, I would like to investigate how emerging digital media and computational design techniques can be used as a tool to empower communities and create resilient designs in the urban realm. When not experimenting with Grasshopper and GIS, I enjoy building my knowledge in world history, advocating ecological wokeness, counseling prospective applicants about graduate admissions, playing tennis, and socializing with a wide diaspora in whichever city I am based in.
