Abhejit leads the ESG and CSR verticals at Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector Bank, and comes with strong experience in both domains. Working directly with the Board and senior leadership, he is responsible for ideating and managing the comprehensive ESG and CSR agendas of the Bank and delivering impact across the Bank’s broad stakeholder spectrum. Abhejit is a strong communicator and strategic thinker, with robust experience in ESG strategy and implementation, CSR strategy and project management, ESG-linked investor engagements, ESG ratings and assessments, sustainable banking and finance, and sustainability reporting, especially in the banking domain. Abhejit is a public speaker on CSR, ESG and other aspects of corporate sustainability. He is currently and has been a member of various national level committees, associations and industry groupings on ESG and CSR. Abhejit is passionate about the environment, his plants, and travel, and truly believes it is possible for India to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth.
