About Abhay Naik

With a passion for everything computers, from hardware to software, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems with a Computer Science minor from San Jose State University. I am currently an Associate Consultant specializing in Workday Integration at Cognizant, while also advancing my expertise in Data Science with a focus on Data Analytics, Engineering, Modeling, and AI/ML at UC Berkeley.During my academic and professional journey, I\'ve worked on value-driven programming and data analytical projects both at school and with Bay Area companies. Notably, I collaborated with an SJSU Professor and their team to develop an accident prediction method using computer vision to enhance the safety of micro-mobility vehicles. This project successfully reduced the number of car and bike accidents on and near the SJSU campus. I developed an object detection algorithm based on the Lucas Kanade algorithm, optimized for low-compute devices, and co-authored a research paper detailing this development. This experience sparked my strong passion for data science, as I realized that data is at the core of all applications.These experiences have equipped me with robust technical skills, including proficiency in Java, C, Swift, and Python. Additionally, I\'ve honed essential soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, which have been critical in my professional development.My goal is to become a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or AI/ML expert, leveraging technology to drive innovation and solve complex problems. I am dedicated to continuous learning and applying my skills to develop cutting-edge solutions in the tech industry.
