About Aasim Bharde
I am an Equity Research professional tracking Indian market equities (almost entirely on the institutional sell side). Across my time in the industry, I have worked on investment ideas in the small and mid cap universe panning various industries like home improvement, plastics, retail, restaurants, textiles, education, media, business services, etc. This industry sector agnostic experience keeps my mind open to new investment ideas across industries which I zero-in on through a bottom-up approach.My experience entails the entire research chain from ideation to client presentations with everything in between – interacting with corporates, channel partners, bankers, people on the ground and scourging the internet for information for target companies, their industries, as well as their peers, developing investment thesis supported by financial assumptions. Keeping track of softer aspects like promoter/management track record and how they stack up with peers is also key to my process.My professional experience of keeping eyes out on new ideas across industries stems from my personality of learning new and learning more. My favourite leisure time activities are reading (non-fiction books usually (favourite themes include investments, history, biographies), and learning foreign languages (German done, French is my current target).
