ABOUT ABDULRAHMAN UMAR
Final-year Aerospace Engineering student at the University of Leicester with a passion for high-performance engineering, aerodynamics, and computational design. My experience spans CFD simulations, 3D CAD modelling, finite element analysis, and flight dynamics, applied in both academic projects and hands-on experimental work.I am currently undertaking a final-year dissertation on CFD optimisation of Formula 1 front wings under the 2026 FIA regulations, combining aerodynamic analysis, parametric design, and performance evaluation using Star-CCM+, SolidWorks, and MATLAB/Python.As a CFD Team Member at the University of Leicester Aerospace Laboratory, I contribute to the design and optimisation of unmanned aerial systems for the IMechE UAS Challenge 2026, strengthening skills in aerodynamic performance, simulation, and prototype validation.I have a strong interest in applying aerospace principles to motorsport engineering, with hands-on experience in team projects, design optimisation, and experimental testing. I am eager to contribute to Formula 1 or high-performance automotive engineering, combining technical expertise, problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mindset.
