From Gist to Detail: Alpha-Band Network Shifts Across Visual Spatial FrequenciesThis project explores how alpha-band oscillatory networks reorganize when processing visual stimuli of varying spatial frequencies, bridging perceptual “gist” with fine-grained detail. I implemented a full EEG preprocessing pipeline (BioSemi-64, ICA & ASR) to extract clean Event-Related Potentials (ERPs) and conducted advanced statistical and connectivity analyses. Findings reveal distinct ERP signatures and alpha-band synchrony patterns across blurred, clear, and sharp stimuli, highlighting network-level strategies for visual processing. To visualize and model these dynamics, I generated topographic maps and am developing a dual-branch computational framework that integrates ERP and connectivity features. This work has been recognized with an abstract accepted for presentation at the Vision Sciences Society (VSS) Annual Meeting, co-authored with M. Fux, Prof. Suayb S. Arslan, and Prof. Pawan Sinha.
