Working with the Independent Engineer’s team for NHAI on the Bhoj–Morbe Tunnel Project (Package XVII, Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway Spur), worth ₹1436 Crores, under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase II (HAM Model).Responsibilities & Key Contributions:• Monitoring NATM tunnel excavation cycles including drilling, blasting, mucking, scaling, and stabilization.• Supervising installation of tunnel support systems — shotcrete, rock bolts, lattice girders, forepoling, wire mesh, steel ribs, and drainage arrangements.• Overseeing tunnel lining works including initial shotcrete lining, waterproofing membrane placement, SCL/secondary lining, and finishing works.• Reviewing and ensuring compliance of tunnel lining drawings, support design, and specification requirements.• Monitoring tunnel deformation, convergence, settlement, and updating tunnel support requirements.• Coordinating with design teams for support modification based on geotechnical behaviour.• Carrying out PLAXIS 2D & 3D analysis for lining verification, support stability, deformation prediction, and numerical modelling of tunnel sections.• Ensuring safety protocols, QMS, and method statement compliance for both excavation and lining works.
