ABOUT ABDIRAHMAN I.

Abdirahman is a Senior Project Manager currently working for Turner & Townsend. He has worked on several major infrastructure projects including Euston Station Enabling Works, London City Airport and Sensitive Projects with MoD. He has also worked on smaller projects including Cockfosters Station Carpark Housing Development and Surrey County Council housing. Prior to joining AtkinsRéalis he won a number of prestigious scholarships including Treis Partners Engineering Scholarship worth at the age of 18, beating more than other students at Imperial College London to the award, and Aziz Foundation Masters Scholarship worth £9,250 at 21. He is currently on the Lord Sainsbury Management Fellowship mentoring scheme was identified a young engineer with high potential to become a senior leader in infrastructure delivery. He also won Devon & Plymouth Chamber 30 under 30 award in 2024, was a finalist in the London ICE Rising Star 2024 Award and 2025 Imperial College London Emerging Alumni Award.Outside of engineering he leads the delivery of multiple STEM programmes at Imperial College London including STEM Futures programme and STEM Potential which helps students from disadvantaged backgrounds study STEM subjects at Russel Group Universities. He has delivered STEM sessions to more than 500 students on a regular basis over the past 5 years alone and as a result was award the John Snowdon Award at Imperial College London. Students from STEM Potential and STEM Futures have successfully secured places to study at Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Manchester, Kings College on a variety of different courses including Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine.
