ABOUT ABDELRAHMAN EMAD HUSSIEN AFIFI
Abdelrahman has got his BSc and MSc from Electronics and Communications Engineering Depart, Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University in 2011 and 2016 respectively. From 2011 to 2012, he joined the Analog Mixed Signal IC Design team in Silicon Vision as a Junior Analog IC Designer. Since 2013, he joined Laboratory of Lasers and Optical Communications, ECE Depart, Ain Shams University as a teacher and research assistant. His research experience includes fiber optic sensors, microwave photonics and optical coherence domain polarimetry systems. He has published one Journal paper in Lightwave Technology and he is a co-author in one patent and several conference publications. Since 2017, he is working as a graduate PhD student at electrical and computer engineering department at University of British Columbia. His research interests are silicon photonics, quantum photonics and fiber optics. He is also a student member in photonics Society and Optical Society of America since 2015.
