About Abby Bunk
As a student pursuing biomedical engineering, I am eager to combine my analytical skills and biological knowledge to make a difference in the medical field. Being a student leader and avid volunteer in my communities allows me to frequently practice my communication and collaboration skills, which strongly translates into research and clinical settings. My experience and mastery of laboratory skills in wet labs have also increased my understanding of biological research, which can be applied in engineering settings. As a student researcher in the Microvascular Dynamics Laboratory under Dr. Murfee, my research project focuses on lymphatic growth under angiogenetic conditions. Interning at a global medical device company, Medtronic, has opened my eyes to all career opportunities in the surgical industry and allowed me to apply my skills in data analysis, experimental testing, and procedural writing.
