ABOUT ABBY STEADMAN
My education, training and experience is vast and varied! I have 12 years of experience of teaching English, both KS3 and KS4 (PRUs, SEMH schools, alternative provisions, Young Offenders and most recently, supply teaching and mainstream high schools)! I managed an English department for an outstanding alternative provision in Leeds City Centre for 6 years and contributed twice to their outstanding result for the department of the College. I am also trained in Lexonik (leap), from January 2025, which is a programme to help students (who are not at Primary school) to improve their reading levels through phonics. I run my own intervention groups to ensure student\'s reading levels are improved and they make progress. I was also an examiner for AQA English language GCSE for summer 2022 and summer 2023. I have GCSE\'S, A-Levels, an English literature degree, a PGCE in Lifelong Learning and QTS in secondary education! I now work as an English teacher in an outstanding high school in Leeds!
