ABOUT ABBY SELLMAN
Hello! My name is Abby Sellman, and I am a senior at Chapman University, majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Economics—and a student-athlete who knows that growth usually lives just past the uncomfortable parts. As a swimmer, the 400 IM is my specialty, and while breaststroke has never felt natural, it’s taught me one of my biggest lessons: you don’t grow by avoiding what’s hard, you grow by pushing through it. That mindset has shaped how I approach academics, athletics, and life. I’ve learned the value of hard work, consistency, and community—surrounding yourself with people who challenge you, support you, and expect more out of you. Being part of a driven, like-minded team has pushed me to be better and shown me that you’re capable of far more than you think.I’ve been described as joyful, hardworking, and deeply invested in the people and commitments I care about. Outside the pool and classroom, you’ll find me at the beach, hiking to get outside, or reading (the Hunger Games books will always have my heart). I love sci-fi, sports and action movies, sitcoms (The Office especially), and I’m firmly in my dad-rock era with Journey, Fleetwood Mac, and the Rolling Stones on repeat. Always pushing. Always learning. Always showing up.
