About Abby Huggins
I’m a pre-medical student at the University of Georgia, majoring in Health Promotion with an emphasis in Behavioral Medicine and minoring in Classical Culture. With hundreds of hours of hands-on clinical experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with patients and shadow physicians in orthopedics, dermatology, neonatology, and internal medicine—experiences that have solidified my passion for medicine and deepened my understanding of patient-centered care.Beyond the clinic, I’ve contributed to research in both public health and neuroscience, presenting and publishing at academic forums. I am also BLS and CITI certified, and I’m continually seeking ways to expand my knowledge and skillset in preparation for medical school.I plan to apply during the 2025–26 cycle and am currently exploring specialties like orthopedics, OB-GYN, pediatrics, psychiatry, and neonatology. I’m driven by a strong commitment to improving health outcomes and advocating for those who need it most.
