About Abby Guilfoyle
I\'m a 2025 Fordham University graduate with a B.A. in English and History, currently in my third year as a Legal Clerk Intern at Coffey Modica LLP before beginning my J.D. studies at New England Law Boston this fall. My Jesuit, liberal arts education–through courses such as Philosophical Ethics, Literary Theories, Latin American and Latino Short Stories, and Cold War Science and Technology Seminar–sharpened my analytical thinking, ethical reasoning, and critical writing skills, all of which continue to shape how I approach legal work. This foundation also deepened my awareness of structural inequality and global narratives, fueling my interest in immigration law and social justice as part of a broader passion of mine, to help others. In addition to my ongoing work at Coffey Modica LLP, where I’ve developed a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and case preparation, I previously interned internationally with HandsOn London, an experience that broadened my perspective and strengthened my ability to engage with diverse communities. I also serve on the Junior Board of Directors for Kids Helping Kids, a Fairfield County CT nonprofit, where I help organize the alumni network and support youth-led service initiatives, further deepening my leadership and community engagement. As a first-generation American, my Irish background continues to shape my commitment to pursuing meaningful change through both legal work and community involvement. I’m excited to begin my legal education with curiosity and gratitude, and to build on these experiences as I work toward a career rooted in service and meaningful impact.
