ABOUT ABBY FUSCA

A current Internal Auditor at the North Carolina Education Lottery, I have been able to use my education and experience to work alongside my team completing our annual audit plan. This includes departments such as Cash Management, Security Operations, Responsible gaming, Purchasing, etc. I have utilized Audit Board to complete audits and write reports that assist our team in communicating our audit findings with different departments. I have also become lead auditor at weekly RNG draws and audit our processes for following compliance measures. As a business analytics masters student in the Spring of 2023 at Elon University, I am passionate about applying data-driven insights and solutions to complex business problems. I have completed graduate-level courses in Tableau, R, JMP, management, marketing, and accounting, and obtained my BS in finance in May 2022 with a focus on financial modeling, real estate finance, and excel modeling.For two years, I worked as an internal audit intern/on-call resource at Peraton, a leading provider of innovative national security and intelligence solutions. I contributed to the improvement of internal audit processes and procedures, and supported the audit team in delivering high-quality reports and recommendations.Additionally, I was a student athlete for five years, playing Division 1 soccer at Elon University and serving as a team captain for the 2021 season. Through soccer, I have developed essential skills such as teamwork, time management, and leadership, as well as a strong work ethic and resilience. During my time at elon, I also worked as an assistant coach at Burlington Soccer Club, where I taught children the fundamentals of soccer and important life skills. I then worked as an Assistant coach for Vienna Youth Soccer with their high school aged ECNL-RL teams. I am currently working as a head soccer coach for Wake Futbol Club in Raleigh, NC, working with U6-U15 age groups in the classic division. I am in charge of player and parent communications, planning and running practices and games, and have been involved on both the girls and boys sides.
