About Abby Chapman
Hi! My name is Abby Chapman, and I am a second-year MS Environmental Engineering student at The University of Texas at Austin. I am currently a full-time graduate research member of the Kumar Lab Group at UT Austin, where I focus on low-cost, decentralized drinking water treatment solutions for application in East Africa. I am also currently interning remotely as the Indonesia Program Management Intern for Water Mission. In May 2024, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, where I was a part of the Engineering Honors College. During my time at Texas A&M, I was an undergraduate research member of the Texas A&M University Aquatic Chemistry Lab Group. My undergraduate internship experience includes working as a site design engineer and water/wastewater engineering intern for Westwood Professional Services and Kimley-Horn and Associates, respectively. I am deeply passionate about working to ensure safe and equitable access to safe water and sanitation on a global scale, and I hope to do so throughout my career following the completion of my master\'s degree.
