A graduate of the Honors College at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, I hold a B.A. in Communication and a B.A. in International Studies with a European concentration. I have extensive experience in the nonprofit industry and am passionate about serving others & affecting change in my community & in the world at large. As a skilled communicator, I am able to write with ease & eloquence and am apt at building connections with a diverse range of people. I am also meticulously thorough, detail-oriented & organized; I love creating & maintaining structure.    Ibu Foundation

   Nov 2022 — Present

   Ibu Foundation has been awarded a grant to promote and revive the rare and unique cultural embroidery of Kandahar, Afghanistan, while improving Afghan women’s economic stability. The 18-month project is in partnership with Kandahar Treasure (“KT”), a women’s embroidery cooperative founded by Afghanistan’s former female Minister of Education, Rangina Hamidi. Through this project, Ibu Foundation will support the expansion of KT’s market opportunities to maintain the Khamak embroidery cultural tradition, create fair-wage jobs for Afghan women and uplift women in an empowering sisterhood that advances fundamental rights. In this role, I serve as the manager of all activities and communication between Ibu Foundation, Kandahar Treasure, the US State Department and the US Embassy. I work to promote Kandahar Treasure products in domestic and global markets to preserve Afghan culture and empower Afghan women. I also plan and oversee trainings, workshops and gatherings of women in the Kandahar Treasure cooperative to encourage the exchange of shared values like financial literacy, primary education and an end to gender-based violence.
