Designed and constructed a lab-scale CO₂ capture and mineralization system using BOF slag and cement kiln dust, achieving 95% CO₂ capture efficiency from synthetic flue gas.• Developed a closed-loop process integrating calcium extraction and carbonation, turning industrial waste into stable CaCO₃ for permanent carbon storage.• Conducted 100+ tests across variables (acid type/concentration, temperature, NaOH flow, reaction time) to optimize CO₂ fixation rates.• Built and operated a 2-meter NaOH scrubber column simulating cement stack emissions (20% CO₂), adjusting flow and concentration for max capture yield.• Applied principles of rapid prototyping and low-capex design to validate scalability of the system for industrial settings.

ABOUT ABBAS RAJAEI

After more than a decade in petrochemical operations — from field technician to control room leader to process engineer — I made a deliberate transition into climate tech. My focus is now on building practical, low-capex solutions for CO₂ capture and industrial decarbonization. Over the past year, I’ve designed and built a full lab-scale CO₂ mineralization system from scratch, using BOF/Ladle slags and cement kiln dust as calcium sources. The system captures CO₂ from flue gas with 95% efficiency and produces stable CaCO₃ — validating a scalable, circular approach for heavy industry emissions. This work combines my engineering experience with my passion for problem-solving and clean technology. I believe the future of decarbonization lies in agile, systems-level innovation: fast prototyping, smart use of industrial waste, and closing carbon loops at the source. I’m now looking to join a mission-driven team building real-world solutions in synthetic fuels, hydrogen, or carbon utilization. If you\'re working on turning CO₂ into value, let\'s connect.
