I am a Senior International Development Expert with over 30 years of experience, including 26 years at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. I have a strong track record of advising financial sector policy makers, central bankers and financial regulators in countries across East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle-East & North Africa, and Central Asia. I am available for part-time consulting and advisory assignments in the following areas of specialization: i) Green Finance and Sustainability; ii) Financial Sector Policy and Strategy; Financial Stability Analysis; iv) Banking Supervision; v) Islamic Finance; vii) Financial Sector Capacity Development.Some career highlights:1) World Bank\'s Lead Financial Sector Specialist for China (20••••23): I oversaw support to the Chinese authorities on green finance and sustainability, financial stability, and digital finance. I led an initiative to establish a National Green Investment Fund to decarbonize the Chinese economy, provided technical support on financial stability issues to the People\'s Bank of China and the China Banking and Insurance Commission and supported China’s National Internet Finance Association (NIFA) on several knowledge initiatives.2) World Bank\'s Global Head of Islamic Finance (20••••23): I was responsible for the design and delivery of analytical work and technical assistance activities on Islamic finance worldwide and spearheaded the establishment of the World Bank Islamic Finance Center in Istanbul. I also led an Islamic Finance Advisory Program for Saudi Arabia, which provided training and technical support to the Saudi Central Bank. In addition, I managed a collaborative knowledge program with Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission Malaysia. 3) Resident Financial Stability Adviser, Central Bank of Bahrain (September 2006 to March 2010): On secondment from the World Bank, I provided intellectual leadership on financial stability issues, including designing an overall strategy, defining priorities, identifying relevant policies and assessing available resources for maintaining the stability of the financial sector in Bahrain.4) Program Leader for Financial Sector Capacity Development, World Bank Institute (20••••06): I led a team which designed and deployed various tools and instruments to enhance the capacity of financial regulators and policy makers in emerging markets and developing countries.
