ABOUT AATIQA SHEIKH
Aatiqa Sheikh is an art educator with diverse faculties in pedagogy and research. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for MA Art Education Program at MDSVAD, Beaconhouse National University. She is also an alumnus of MA Art Education with a Distinction in research.Aatiqa has presented her research papers and projects at various international platforms such as 13th HSS, LUMS Conference of Mapping Emerging Scholarships in South Asia, World Summit of Art Education, Portugal, IAFOR Conference for Educational Research & Innovation, Washington, USA and First Regional Conference on Arts and Media Education (RCAME, LUMS) to name a few. Her meta-learning project with school children made it amongst the finalists for ‘BSS Inspire Award 2018’, while another trilingual project on emotional literacy for sustainable communities in collaboration with Colegio Fasta San Alberto Mango, Jujuy, Argentina brought in British Council’s ‘International School Award 2020-23’. She’s been a part of core team of an art education project in collaboration with BNU-TEF (Tareen Education Foundation) to ensure improved teaching and learning practices through innovative design curriculum, capacity building and teachers training in Public Schools of Southern Punjab. She’s displayed her Artwork in Art shows at Alhamra Art Council. Sheikh cofounded the Research Collective, Covert Overt. She’s worked with and led multiple Education & Research projects as well as provided consultancy for UNESCO, World Bank, Tareen Education Foundation, British Council and Government of Pakistan. Recently, she’s contributed to National Curriculum as Curriculum expert of Art & Design.
