Improving Childcare Quality Through Social Franchising ProjectA randomized controlled trial led by Emily Beam (University of Vermont), Anne Fitzpatrick (The Ohio State University), and Maira Emy Reimão (Villanova University), in collaboration with an implementation partner supporting early childhood care providers in Kenya. Access to high-quality childcare is central to advancing women’s economic and social agency while promoting children’s development- Supporting the design and deployment of a midline firm survey across 51 communities in Nairobi to assess childcare center operations and quality- Assisting with survey instrument development, bench-testing, and enumerator training to ensure robust data collection procedures- Conducting backchecks and field visits to ensure data quality and identify issues for real-time resolution- Participating in the implementation partner’s national quality and health monitoring visits to childcare centers across Kenya to gain contextual understanding of early childhood development initiatives- Assisting Principal Investigators with data cleaning, analysis, and visualization for multiple datasets, including a discrete choice experiment on childcare preferences.
