About Aashna Kothiyal
A lawyer and policy practitioner working at the intersection of emerging technologies, law, and regulation. My experience spans corporate law, public policy consulting, and in-house tech policy, giving me both cross-sectoral and cross-functional fluency. My research and drafting skills are grounded in legal rigour and I have experience in regulatory engagement, stakeholder consultations, strategic partnerships. In my last role, I led strategic research and policy engagement at Games24x7, one of India’s leading gaming companies, where I focused on advocating for AI for harm reduction, user protection frameworks, and responsible gaming regulation. I’ve worked with government stakeholders as well academic institutions to advance evidence-based interventions for digital harm mitigation. My focus: building legal and policy frameworks that safeguard user rights and digital well-being, without stifling innovation. I’m also deeply committed to interdisciplinary research, because the law doesn’t (and can’t) operate in isolation. In parallel, also been leading the development of a digital platform for my school’s alumni network - a project that’s given me hands-on experience with product development cycles, platform design, and the user-side challenges. While not directly a professional engagement, it has sharpened my technical understanding.
