Through my data science abilities and problem-solving mindset, I enable evidence-based decision making for businesses (e.g, environmental monitoring, predictive maintenance solutions, enabler towards new energy solutions, reducing uncertainties in energy transition). Typically, I work on problem framing and proof-of-concept developments for problems worth solving- Landscaping technology/technical solutions and scoping of problems (sustainability & process optimisation)- Prototype/proof-of-concept solution for run-length estimation of equipment/process - Experience with hybrid modelling (physics + data-driven) for predictive maintenance- Feature development for asset integrity solutions - Knowledge management through reports (published internal reports)- Direct interactions with stakeholders and translating business requirements to technical requirements- Presented at international conferences Before starting as a data scientist at Shell, I completed my PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Bonn, Germany. My journey to data science started as an astronomer dealing with observational data from state-of-the-art telescopes to make sense of the Universe. I could achieve this by devising methods for extracting the astrophysical signal buried in noisy data. Subsequently, by developing and implementing a Bayesian framework for an accurate multi-variate model that construct the posterior of confounding variables and intrinsic covariances. This framework also accounted for the imbalances in the observational data and the findings were published in a peer-reviewed journal (MNRAS).
