About Aaron Sindhu

Recent University of Florida graduate (B.S. Microbiology & Cell Science,\'25) and aspiring physician preparing to apply to medical school. Currently in a gap year dedicated to deepening my clinical experience and strengthening my candidacy. My clinical foundation spans dermatologic surgery, primary care, and medical documentation. As a Medical Assistant at Forefront Dermatology, I gained hands-on experience assisting with Mohs micrographic surgery, administering local anesthesia, performing skin biopsy assistance, coordinating biologic therapies, and managing complex patient workflows including isotretinoin (Accutane) protocols. As a Medical Scribe at UF Health, I honed my ability to document patient encounters in real time, manage electronic health records, and support providers across diverse clinical settings. Beyond the clinic, my commitment to medicine extends into the community. I currently serve as Co-Executive Director of Project Downtown Gainesville, where I lead a 200+ volunteer organization providing weekly meal distribution and resource connection to the city\'s unhoused and low-income residents. Over four years of progressive leadership, I\'ve grown this role from Service Trustee to Co-Executive Director — building partnerships, mentoring volunteer teams, and scaling our impact. I am BLS and EMR certified, a trained crisis intervention volunteer with the Alachua County Crisis Center, and have contributed hundreds of hours to refugee health education and cancer center patient support at UF Health Shands. I believe in a patient-centered approach to medicine that addresses the whole person, and I am eager to bring my clinical skills, leadership experience, and community-driven perspective to medical school and beyond.
