ABOUT AARON JAMES

Master of Research in Journalism (MRes Journalism) and BA (Hons) Journalism Graduate- versatile and experienced in a range of different disciplines. I am an experienced Journalist and Multi Media Producer, with my current role being a Reporter for Tindle Newspapers, covering their Cornwall news and web brand comprising of The Cornish Times, Cornish and Devon Post and the Voice Newspaper series. I primarily cover the geographical areas comprising of Bodmin, Wadebridge, Camelford, and Padstow in North Cornwall in addition to Holsworthy and surrounding villages in Devon and assist where required in other parts of Cornwall as and when needed. I am also our lead planning writer, writing a range of stories for both print and online covering the latest planning applications and decisions in Cornwall. Other specialisms include historical pieces (especially railway), local politics and I also assist our sales department with the writing of advertorial content for advertisers where required. Other disciplines I specialise in include Multimedia Production and Communications, and I utilise those skills where I can to benefit my current employer. I have previously worked in communications for a housing charity and spent nearly two years at Reach PLC. Outside of work, I am the founder of NCB Radio, a community radio station which launched in 2011. In addition to presenting on the station, i assist behind the scenes with production, technical and maintain our website. I have nearly 20 years of experience in small scale radio, having begun planning my first project, a college radio station in 2006 and which launched in March 2008. I am capable in a range of areas in this field ranging from web maintenance, web construction (Wordpress), image manipulation, social media management, audio production, editing and recording, video production and management of online shops (WooCommerce) to name a few of many. As the headline shows - I am autistic, having been diagnosed aged 32. Not that I let that stop me!
