About Aaron Unterreiner

After searching futilely for a sportswriter job for two years after college graduation, I decided to pick up and move from Springfield, Missouri, to Durango, Colorado, and be a raft guide. Why not? My brother lives in Durango, and my cousin was moving parallel with me for the same purpose. I submitted my resume to Mountain Waters Rafting, and I\'m pretty sure I was the only potential raft guide to ever submit a resume to a rafting company for guide school. Less than a month later, I walked in the back door of The Durango Herald, and I\'ve been editing, reading, and writing ever since. I was a sportswriter for five years; I was the sports editor for five more. I was promoted to associate news editor in November 2014, then shortly thereafter I became the news editor at the newspaper that I called home for more than a decade. I never reached guide school at MWR, but I never strayed far from the river, either. Recently, I lived in Davis, California, and was a copyeditor, paginator, and proofreader for The McClatchy Company at its national headquarters, The Sacramento Bee, in California\'s state capital. Currently, I live in Anchorage, Alaska, where I run my own small business, Au Copyediting & Copywriting, and serve as the marketing coordinator at PND Engineers, Inc.

Identifies innovative methods for graphically depicting both corporate capabilities and technical methodologies. Participates in the selection of design teams and subconsultants. Develops marketing staff through on-the-job coaching and personal development plan discussions. Accepts responsibility for giving, seeking, and acting on feedback needed – for personal career development and peak professional performance – and to resolve project-related personnel issues.
