ABOUT AARON TOMKINS

You\'ve made it to my profile! I am Aaron Tomkins, a seasoned Principal Geoscientist currently leading geoscientific initiatives in the United States. With a career spanning over two decades, I\'ve contributed significantly to the fields of Geophysics, Geology, Mining and Metals, Oil and Gas, and Construction Management worldwide. My educational foundation includes a BSc in Geology & Geophysics, an MSc in Structural Geology & Petrology, and accreditation as a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). Throughout my professional journey, I\'ve cultivated expertise in construction management, structural geology & minerology, geophysics including near surface engineering & exploration, culminating currently in tailings dam investigations, monitoring and consultation. This includes above and below ground investigations, risk analysis, ongoing proactive monitoring, and managing the life cycle of a tailings dams from pre-feasibility to legacy phases of the asset. One of my notable achievements is the creation of the industry-leading \'Tailings First\' product as part of my role at GBG. This product has set the benchmark for geophysical investigations within tailings dams, contributing valuable insights to industry leaders such as BHP and Rio Tinto. I am extremely proud to also serve as the Co-Founder & Director of Geoscience for Hermes & Soteria, an Australian-born mining services company. Our focus at H&S is on providing true in-situ accurate subsurface measurements and monitoring, we are pushing the boundaries & moving industry away from reactive surface monitoring. Our capabilities encompass a range of metrics, including positive and negative pore pressure, pH, salinity, volumetric water content, P&S wave velocities, and temperature. H&S is currently in its start-up phase, with three pilot clients on board. I thrive on pushing the boundaries of geoscience and contributing to the advancement of the mining industry.
