ABOUT AARON SUTTON
After spending 4 years at university studying Accounting, Business Finance and Management, working in various accountancy practices for 6 years and becoming ACCA part-qualified, I finally really being an accountant wasn’t for me! But those years were far from wasted as they formed the foundation of who I am today and helped me realise my passion. This passion is supporting others to learn and understand there is a better way to do things than “the way we have always done them”! When I first joined Xero I worked directly with our accounting and bookkeeping partners but after an opportunity to stand up in front of hundreds of people I knew I wanted to reach the masses rather than chip away one by one! Now I am part of the Education and Content team at Xero, delivering webinars and in person events to accountants, bookkeepers and small business owners and I have finally found what I was meant to do! Those years of studying and working in practice provided me with the foundations to get here and my advice is you don’t know what you don’t know. You don’t know that standing on a stage in front of 500 people isn’t daunting, you don’t know that you can educate the masses in this industry until you know it. Keep following your dreams and your path, everything happens for a reason!
