I appreciate the philosophy that design is design, and only the medium changes. For me, this has meant working with multiple materials, designing one-offs and for production: chairs, kitchens, machines, processes and systems. I believe design should be a tactile process, with tactile results. My experience has afforded me the opportunity to capitalize on these ideas, having worked in both manufacturing and custom design environments. It is well-rounded experience that I believe makes me a stronger thinker. The ability to make what I design offers a level of engagement and understanding that I feel is essential to a project. Having worked on multiple cross-functional teams in product development, I believe my experience also gives me a centered approach to bringing ideas to life.
