To develop and maintain BSI’s policy lines relating to UK government regulatory standards policy (primarily designated standards), and to provide policy documents and briefs in support of the views of BSI and UK stakeholders • Engage relevant UK stakeholders on policy issues and work with them to develop BSI’s positions relating to government • Represent BSI at meetings and events, particularly with government officials and with trade bodies • Act as an interface between BSI and government around designated standards • Provide a policy watch function relating to development in UK regulation (GB and NI) and EU regulation, with a particular focus on issues around divergence and convergence • To answer questions and to research issues, often at short notice, from UK government on standards issues, and to deliver analysis and briefings on standards and government issues • To perform specific research tasks on government policy and standards • Manage the Policy team’s inputs and responses to compliance and audit matters such as BS 0 process, CEN-CENELEC membership audit • Support the work of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee • To manage projects for research, consultancy and events
