ABOUT AARON JOAQUIN MACIAS

I have recently started working as an intern in the United States House of Representatives for Rep. Jack Bergman of Michigan\'s 1st District. Before working in this office, I interned in the LA District Office of Senator Alex Padilla where I answered the calls of 40 million Californians and assisted the casework team in helping constituents navigate complicated federal agencies.In May 2025, I graduated from the University of Notre Dame where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Latino Studies. My prior activities include tuba performance for various ensembles within the Band of the Fighting Irish, career development work through Beyond The Dome, part-time work as an intramural referee and sports program supervisor, and volunteer teaching at Compañerismo Cristiano Foursquare Church. Through my studies, work experience, and participation in these organizations I have enhanced my skills in leadership, communication, teambuilding, and problem solving. Though my concentration is in American politics, specifically issues relating to immigration and civil rights, I am interested in all forms of policy research and implementation. Now in my post-graduate career, I hope to use my knowledge and abilities to make a tangible difference in the realm of politics, advocating for underrepresented communities across the United States.
