Graduate from California State University, Long Beach with a Master’s of Science in Counseling, Student Development in Higher Education (SDHE).Graduate from California Polytechinic Humboldt with a Bachelor’s in Science, Zoology with a minor in Biological Anthropology.I am passionate about helping STEM & International Students gain resources on campus, seek opportunities for research/career, gain a sense of belonging, and being able to achieve retention/graduation within their undergraduate careers. I want to bridge the disciplines of STEM and Education and create a more inviting and humanizing network and environment for future STEM professionals. I believe the advising/counseling system can be better in providing resources, connections, skills, and support for STEM students. So, with my background, I want to be a role model and representative in the field to show that non-traditional pathways are available and can be created for success. Served 2 years under STEM VISTA/VISTA within AmeriCorps, servicing the Los Angeles Education Partnership - University Pathways High School in Los Angeles & CSULA\'s LSAMP Program.I hope to be a Counselor within the California Community College system to continue serving STEM and International students that are 1st Generation, Low-Income, Underrepresented Minorities, and Academically Challenged.
