ABOUT AMULYA AKKAPEDDI
With a master\'s degree in public health and a concentration in epidemiology from UNC Charlotte, I have a solid foundation in epidemiological methods, biostatistics, and public health principles. During my studies, I gained valuable experience as a teaching assistant and an intern, where I conducted literature reviews, contact tracing, and data management for various public health projects. As an epidemiologist at Louisville Metro Government, I work with a team of public health professionals to monitor, analyze, and report on disease patterns and trends in the community. I use software like STATA, SAS, SQL, and Tableau to conduct data analyses and create visualizations that inform public health interventions and policies. One of my main goals as a public health practitioner is to create awareness among low-income communities about cost-effective clean and healthy living. I believe that my background in oral health and my current experience in public health enable me to understand the basic pathology behind major public health issues and contribute to the prevention and control of infectious and chronic diseases.
