About Aakash Hawaldar
With academic qualifications in Medicine and Screenwriting, and 3+ years of experience in full-time and freelance content development, I am now exploring India\'s Education and Social Development sectors and understanding the inequity that sits at the center of it all. Having interned with a Government Medical College and then branching out into storytelling through some prolific media houses in the Hindi Film Industry, I carry with me the strengths of intensive academic rigor that ties itself to stakes as high as saving lives, and artistic expression merged with strategic partnerships that bring stories to life. At present, my role as an educator in a low-resource setting is both an extension of my 6-month teaching stint at a Deemed Medical University as well as an assimilation of all my acquired skills and perspectives that help me carve this role out with the nuance and urgency that disadvantaged students of our society need.
Experience
Fellow
May 2025 — Present · Bengaluru, IN
As a Year-1 Fellow, I teach Math and Science to 31 Grade 9 students in a low-income private school in suburban Bengaluru- One of the key focus areas of this fellowship is to practice intentional lesson planning on a daily basis, incorporating the 5 Magic Questions - Purpose, Integration, Mastery, Methods and Partnership, and strategising the execution to balance the academic rigor of secondary grade and filling in their foundational gaps- I place culture-building at par with academic excellence through consciously curated morning meetings that discuss every possible concern of society and adolescence. These spaces are also facilitated to enable student reflection - I am constantly engaging with the key stakeholders that impact student growth, primarily the parents and the school managemen, to enable their holistic development, through community visits, routine PTMs and School Team Meetings- I also lead the School Child Protection Committee, TFI\'s pilot program to strengthen the system that enables child safety in all spaces. As a custodian to enforce Child Protection Policy, I conduct monthly meetings with the school team, address the discussed concerns through measured and accessible ways at the school level and liaison with the organizations that routinely intervene to address the psychological health of students, that is often at risk given the environment they come from- I am constantly re-inventing ways to improve student engagement in all spheres of personality development, whether it is through co-creating every inch and fabric of their classroom or by structures like End-Of-Chapter Symposiums, Daily Micro Goal-Setting, Student Shoutouts, Gratitude Wall, amongst others- I am also currently serving as the Fellow facilitator for the six-month Editorial Training Program for TFI students across Bengaluru, where I help students hone and polish their creative expression through a Newsletter that is entirely edited by them.
